Yoga Balance was founded by Mandy Marshall in 2003, with the aim of creating a comfortable, welcoming space where people could enjoy yoga, regardless of their experience level. Mandy's own yoga journey began just six weeks after the birth of her son, when a close friend convinced her to try a class. Despite her reservations, Mandy fell in love with yoga from the very first week and decided to become a teacher herself.

With a background in secondary school teaching, sales, and publishing, Mandy brought a grounded and relatable approach to her yoga classes. She wanted to make yoga fun, relaxed, and accessible to everyone, and to make a positive difference in people's lives. The name Yoga Balance reflects Mandy's attitude towards yoga, which is all about finding balance in all aspects of life.

Over the years, Yoga Balance has grown and evolved, with Mandy completing many more courses, retreats, and studies, and welcoming a diverse range of experienced teachers to the studio. Today, Yoga Balance has a thriving community of over 130 students every week, all of whom contribute to the studio's unique and welcoming atmosphere.

Our Services

Yoga Balance offers a variety of classes to suit all levels of experience, from complete beginners to advanced practitioners. Our classes include:

  • Hatha Yoga: Our Hatha classes focus on the physical postures of yoga, with an emphasis on alignment, flexibility, and strength. These classes are suitable for all levels and are a great way to learn the basics of yoga.
  • Vinyasa Yoga: Our Vinyasa classes are dynamic and flowing, with an emphasis on linking breath and movement. These classes are more physically demanding than our Hatha classes and are suitable for those with some yoga experience.

Our Studio

At Yoga Balance, we believe that creating a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere is just as important as the yoga practice itself. Our studio is located in Ferntree Gully, Victoria, and is fitted out with everything you need to enjoy your yoga practice. We have comfortable changing rooms, plenty of props (including mats, blocks, and blankets), and a friendly and supportive community of students and teachers.

Our teachers are all experienced and qualified, and are dedicated to providing a safe and enjoyable yoga practice for everyone. We believe that yoga is for everyone, and we welcome students of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds.
