The Australian Chidokai Karate-do Association is a karate school that was formed in 2003 with the principle objective of applying classical Shotokan karate-do to real-life practical applications. The association is committed to training in the traditional Chidokan way, focusing on body shifting, combinations, and real-life self-defence applications. Regular gashakus are used to maintain unity and purpose among students, and instructors and students receive a monthly newsletter with various information and articles. The association also publishes research on karate training and kata applications and is a member of the Australian Traditional Karate-do Federation.
