Experience You Can Trust, Service You Can Rely On

As a psychotherapist, I believe that talking through your concerns and issues is a powerful way to alleviate distress and find a path forward. This approach, often referred to as "the talking cure, " has been refined over the years to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals to explore their challenges and work towards positive change.

About Gabby Howse

With over 20 years of experience in the field of counselling and psychotherapy, I have had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and with a wide range of concerns. My career has taken me through various roles, including relationship and family counselling, drug and alcohol therapy, and working as a counsellor for the Family Court of Australia. For the past 15 years, I have been dedicated to my private practice, where I have had the opportunity to focus on the areas that are most meaningful to me.

My Areas of Interest and Expertise

In my early years as a counsellor and psychotherapist, I worked broadly with clients presenting with various issues. However, it wasn't long before I began to develop a strong interest in specific areas, particularly those related to women's issues. I was struck by the dynamic relationship between mothers and their babies and the profound impact that interruptions or interferences in this relationship can have. This led me to explore the area of adoption, where I have seen firsthand the lasting effects of the severing of the mother-infant bond in early life. My work with adoptees has been incredibly rewarding, and I am committed to providing a safe and supportive environment for them to explore their experiences and emotions.

Another area of interest for me is working with women and couples who are struggling with infertility or have experienced the devastating loss of a child. These experiences can be incredibly isolating and overwhelming, and I am dedicated to providing a compassionate and non-judgmental space for individuals to process their emotions and find a way forward.

Upcoming Events and Workshops

I am excited to announce an upcoming 8-week group therapy program for adoptees, exploring the painful issues of attachment in relation to adoption. This program will run from February to March 2020 and provides a unique opportunity for adoptees to connect with others who share similar experiences and emotions. If you are interested in learning more about this program or would like to discuss how I can support you, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
