Our Heritage
Art Evolutions Dance School has a rich history and a proud heritage. Originally founded as Dutton's Dancing School in 1916 in Birkenhead, England, the school was started by James Herbert Dutton and his wife Hannah. The school was then continued by their granddaughter, Jean Dutton, in the 1940s. Jean's family then moved to Australia in 1964 and opened up a school in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, which was then run by Jean and her daughter Jeanette. Since 2007, the school has been known as Art Evolutions Dance School and is now run by Jeanette's daughter and James' great great granddaughter, Jessica. Under Jessica's leadership, the dance school continues to thrive, providing exceptional dance education to students from all walks of life.
