Experience the Best of Modern Chinese Cuisine in Sydney
Peacock Gardens Restaurant, a modern Chinese establishment, has been a staple in Sydney's dining scene since its inception in 1975. Located in the inner northern suburb of Crows Nest, we have been serving discriminating diners throughout Sydney for over four decades. Our restaurant is under the meticulous direction of proprietor Mathew Chan, who has been dedicated to providing a first-class dining experience since our founding.
Peacock Gardens has been the recipient of numerous awards, including the Restaurant and Catering Association's Best Chinese Restaurant of 2007 and 2011, the American Express Restaurant Award for Outstanding Performance & Service, and the Gault&Millau Yellow Rose award in 2017. Our commitment to excellence is reflected in every aspect of our operation, from the decor to the menu to the service.
Our restaurant has a seating capacity of 80 in the main dining room, which has recently been renovated to provide a more comfortable and enjoyable dining experience. For those who wish to have a drink before their meal, we have a large, elegant granite bar located near the entrance. We also have tastefully decorated private function rooms available for parties of 10 to 70 people, which are equipped with audio-visual systems and wireless microphones for use in seminars, meetings, presentations, and conferences. Our professional staff are always available to help patrons plan a special menu or a full banquet.

Mathew Chan & Hall of Fame
Mathew Chan, the proprietor of Peacock Gardens, was born in Hong Kong in 1946. He was sent to boarding school in Albury at the age of fifteen. In the early sixties, Mathew worked as a waiter at the Nanking Restaurant in Campbell Street and the Golden Pagoda in Kings Cross before moving to the Mandarin Club in 1966. Mathew's dedication to the restaurant industry has been recognized with numerous awards, including the American Express Restaurant Award for Outstanding Performance & Service in the category of Best Asian Restaurants. Mathew's consistently fine food and personal service have delighted patrons from all over Sydney for over four decades.
