Warmly welcome to Riverton Rossmoyne Veterinary Hospital, a long-standing, family-owned, and operated veterinary clinic that has been providing exceptional veterinary care to the community since 1971. Founded by Dr Alan Croxford, our hospital has gone through several transformations, starting as a single-storey rendered building that also served as the Croxford family's home. The building, originally located on Stirling Street in Perth, was relocated to its current location due to a shortage of bricks after World War II. Over the years, we have expanded our facilities to cater to our growing number of staff and clients while continuing to provide the finest veterinary care to all pets, just as we would to our own.

Our Hospital: A Rich History

Our hospital, located at 83 Vahland Avenue in Riverton, WA 6148 (corner 246 High Road), has a unique and rich history. The original part of the hospital was once occupied by a clairvoyant who used to do readings by the fireplace, which is now our staff room. For the first two and a half years, the Croxford family lived and worked in this tight three-bedroom space, sharing their bedroom with sick animals that required overnight treatment. The surrounding area was still rural, with chicken and pig farms nearby, and RRVH treated horses, farm animals, and smaller domestic pets.

In 1974, we added a single-storey extension to the building, which now houses our waiting room. As we continued to grow in the late 1970s, we purchased the block of land next door and built a separate house for the Croxfords, allowing us to increase our parking facilities and better serve our clients. In 1979, we added a double-storey red brick extension to our hospital, featuring three consulting rooms and a large open plan reception downstairs and a one-bedroom flat upstairs for live-in staff members who cared for animals overnight.
