The Manly Vale Football Club is a thriving community of players at all ages and levels, with a rich history that spans over seven decades. Established in 1951 as Brookvale Soccer Club, the club was renamed to its current name in 1961 to reflect its strong connection to the Manly Vale area. With a membership of over 2000 players, the club is always on the lookout for new members to join this vibrant community.

Our History

Manly Vale Football Club, as we know it today, celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2021. The club has gone through several changes since its inception as Brookvale Soccer Club in 1951, four years after the Manly Warringah Football Association (MWFA) was formed. In 1961, the club was renamed to Manly Vale Soccer Club, following the departure of some members who went on to form Curl Curl Club. With the majority of the remaining players and officials hailing from Manly Vale, it was a natural decision to rename the club to better represent its members.

In 1961, the newly renamed club had 12 junior teams, ranging from Under 8's to 16's. Over the years, the club has experienced significant growth in its membership and reputation. Today, Manly Vale Football Club stands as a testament to the pursuit of excellence in coaching, support, and the development of the 'Manly Vale way' - a spirit of fair play and camaraderie that is evident in every game.

The Manly Vale Family Club

Manly Vale Football Club prides itself on being a Family Club. From the early years when the Bathgate, Dudley, Barnes, Thyer, Jones, and Bush families played a crucial role in shaping the club's future, to the present day, where families like the Wainwrights continue the tradition of volunteering and contributing to the club's success. The Wainwright family, for instance, had a significant impact on the club, with father Ted serving as a coach for several years and four brothers all playing for the club. John and Keith Wainwright have both played key roles in running the club, with John serving as President.
