At Grasshopper Soccer, we're a community-based Australian soccer organisation that aims to teach children aged 2-12 the basics of playing soccer in a fun, social, and non-competitive environment. Each program provides a building block upon which children can improve their game and their character. More than just a game, we see Grasshopper soccer as a valuable addition to children's learning.
Our programs are designed to teach kids how fun soccer can be! We aim to teach and develop soccer skills to children in a safe and enjoyable environment. Founded in 1990, we have over 20 years of experience in sharing our love of sport with kids. Our programs are dynamic, growing and changing with us as we develop, ensuring children continue to love and enjoy this game.
Our Programs
We offer a range of programs designed for children aged 2-12 years. Each program provides a building block upon which children can improve their game and develop their character. Our programs include:
- Mite-E (2-3 years old): Designed for toddlers with lots of parental involvement
- Pint Size (4-5 years old): An introduction to the basics of soccer, with real matches!
- Intro to Micro (5-6 years old): More ball skills plus matches with more players!
- Micro (6-8 years old): A focus on match play - still no soccer experience required!
- Micro+ (8-12 years old): A transition from Micro to the challenge of club soccer!
- School Programs: No age limit, our school programs are a fantastic way to get students to play together!
- Holiday Programs: No age limit, our holiday programs run 4 times a year! So sign your kids up today!
- Corporate Programs: No age limit, bring the fun to your workplace with our fantastic new corporate programs!
- Birthday Parties: No age limit, celebrate your child's birthday differently with Grasshopper Soccer!
Our Philosophy
We recognise the importance of developing skills in a non-competitive way, allowing the kids to develop relationships with their teammates, promoting social and mental awareness along with improving physical prowess. We know that the social interaction involved in our programs is just as important as any one ball skill. The children learn how to interact in a stress-free environment, learning how to share, take turns, listen to instructions, and work as a team.
We believe that parental involvement is a key element at Grasshopper Soccer. We encourage parents to support their children, especially in those programs designed for younger players. Our programs run all year round, on weekdays and weekends. We offer programs during the school term and also have a great range of holiday programs.
