Cheers! We Represent the Voice of Australian Hotels

The Australian Hotels Association (AHA) is a distinguished organisation that has been representing employers in the hospitality and liquor industry since 1839. With a rich history spanning nearly two centuries, the AHA has evolved into a dynamic and influential force, servicing more than 5,000 members across Australia. Our network extends beyond individual businesses, encompassing a diverse range of interests and communities that engage with Australian hotels.

Our members range from quaint country pubs to luxurious five-star resorts, providing employment for approximately 270,000 Australians and contributing over $12,000,000,000 to the national economy. Australian hotels are more than just places to stay; they are hubs of social interaction and community support, hosting over 50,000 community groups and events each year.

The AHA is structured with a National Office in Canberra and branches in every state and territory, ensuring that we are closely connected to the unique needs and interests of each region. Our members are our top priority, and we strive to represent and protect their interests through our dedicated work.

Our Services: Representation, Advocacy, and Support

The AHA offers a wide range of services designed to support and represent our members in the ever-evolving hospitality and liquor industry. Our services include:

  • Representation and Advocacy: We are dedicated to advocating for our members' interests at local, state, and federal levels. Our representation extends to various aspects of the industry, including policy development, regulatory compliance, and industry standards.

Our Structure: A National Network with Local Connections

The AHA is governed by a National Board, composed of delegates from each state and territory branch. The National Board meets annually to discuss industry matters and formulate strategies. The National Executive, consisting of state/territory branch presidents and the Tourism Accommodation Australia president, meets several times a year to provide direction and guidance between National Board meetings.

Accommodation Australia (AA) is a distinct division within the AHA, dedicated to representing the interests of accommodation hotels. The AA National Board comprises delegates from each state and territory, ensuring that accommodation hotels have a strong and unified voice within the AHA.
