At Gorokan Preschool, we are committed to promoting children's positive mental health and well-being. We foster an appreciation of each child's identity and help build feelings of 'belonging' by embracing and celebrating diversity. Our team is supported by the 'Be You' early learning initiative, an Australian mental health and well-being framework for early learning services.

We believe in the importance of connecting to the land and sustainability. At Gorokan Preschool, we provide opportunities for children to learn about the natural world through our worm farm, compost bins, vegetable gardens, and chickens. Our goal is to educate children about the importance of caring for the environment and the creatures that inhabit it.

Our Services

Gorokan Preschool offers places for children aged 3.5 - 5 years. Our hours of operation are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 9 am - 3 pm, Thursday and Friday from 8 am - 3.30 pm. We provide a stimulating, engaging, and nurturing environment that supports children's learning and development. Our highly qualified, long-standing, and experienced staff build responsive and meaningful relationships with children, families, community, and each other.

We offer a play-based curriculum that is responsive to the interests, ideas, and abilities of every child. We believe that play is the most powerful tool for learning and development in early childhood, and we strive to provide a range of play experiences that promote learning and growth. We also offer a variety of additional services such as transition-to-school programs, community events, and excursions that enrich children's learning and development.

At Gorokan Preschool, we believe that children deserve the best start in life. We are committed to providing high-quality education and care that supports each child's unique needs and abilities. Our not-for-profit, community-based preschool welcomes 70 families each day, and we have been proudly serving the community since 1975.
