Our Story
Visionary Health was first established in 1999 by local Newcastle pharmacist, Roch Shamley. Roch wanted to provide people with access to natural therapists and their knowledge free of charge. After two years, Roch partnered with fellow Novocastrian pharmacist, Alan Malouf, to open a compounding laboratory at Visionary Health. Alan has since mostly retired but still comes in one day a week to share his knowledge with customers and staff. Roch is no longer associated with Visionary Health, but we continue to follow the principles that Visionary Health was based on. We currently have naturopaths, medical herbalists, pharmacists, and lab technicians on our staff, ready to help you optimize your health.
What We Do
At Visionary Health, we source only the highest quality ingredients and products. We believe that achieving optimum health requires the use of premium quality ingredients in our preparations. Our main compounding laboratory ingredient supplier is PCCA (Professional Compounding Chemists of Australia), who undergo 14 checks and analyses on each chemical lot as it comes in to stock. Our herbal dispensary is stocked with over 180 different herbal extracts from reputable suppliers, including Medi Herb and Optimal Rx. Medi Herb is renowned for producing herbal extracts of the highest quality, carefully sourcing and rigorously testing all raw materials before production. Optimal Rx is a 100% Australian owned and managed company that produces liquid herbal extracts using state-of-the-art extraction techniques.
