Our Story

At Thornton Engineering, we pride ourselves on being a leading steel fabricator in Australia, with a rich history dating back to 1975. From humble beginnings in a small workshop in Penshurst, Victoria, our family-owned business has grown significantly over the years, yet maintained its strong family values and philosophies. Today, we operate five extensively equipped workshops, including our dedicated Vessel Shop, two Beamlines, a Plate Shop, and our Penshurst workshop, enabling us to produce a diverse range of steel products for major projects across Australia.

Our Capabilities

Structural Steel

Our two Beamlines can deliver high-volume structural steel from CAD drawings to finished product within 24 hours. Whether it's for a residential development, commercial building, or infrastructure project, we can fabricate structural steel to meet your project requirements.

Pressure Vessels

Our state-of-the-art vessel shop can manufacture vessels of all shapes and sizes to suit your complex project needs. From design to fabrication, we ensure that our pressure vessels meet the highest quality and safety standards.

Heat Exchangers
