Who I am

I'm Cate Simpson, a Registered Clinical Psychotherapist (PACFA) with over 15 years of experience in private practice. I've worked across a variety of settings, from inpatient units to community mental health services, supporting individuals with diverse mental health challenges.

My Approach

I believe in building a strong, collaborative relationship with my clients, one based on trust and mutual respect. I use a relational framework, meaning I view the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for healing and growth. I utilize evidence-based therapies such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and mindfulness to empower you to develop self-awareness, insight, and self-compassion.

What I Do

I work with adults experiencing a wide range of challenges, including:

  • Trauma and Abuse: Emotional, physical, sexual, neglect, abandonment/attachment trauma
  • Anxiety and Depression: Managing overwhelming emotions, overcoming negative thought patterns

My Background and Values

I hold a Master's degree in Psychoanalytic Studies and have completed extensive training in trauma, mindfulness, and various therapeutic modalities. I am passionate about human rights, mindful of the power of the therapeutic relationship, and fascinated by the human mind and consciousness.
