Hit a winner with Yeronga Tennis Club - Where every shot counts!
Established in 1907, the Yeronga Tennis Club is one of the oldest operating tennis clubs in Queensland. We take great pride in being one of the few tennis clubs in Brisbane that continues to thrive as a community club, managed by dedicated volunteers. Situated in the picturesque surroundings of Yeronga Park on Brisbane's inner southside, the club offers members and the general community unparalleled facilities that are expected of a modern centre. Our clubhouse is well-equipped, and the lush green surroundings, dotted with pine trees and parks, provide a perfect backdrop for a friendly social atmosphere.
The committee of the Yeronga Tennis Club is a dedicated team of individuals who ensure the success of the club through regular meetings to discuss and implement strategies for its continuous improvement. The committee comprises of the President, Vice-President, Club Captain, Club Vice-Captain, Honorary Secretary, Honorary Treasurer, Court Superintendent, Social Convenor, Honorary Auditor, and Additional Committee Members. Each member of the committee plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth functioning of the club.
Hiring Services
Our courts are available for anyone in the community to use at competitive rates. However, as the centre is run by dedicated volunteers, we are not equipped for quick one-off hirings. We take prearranged regular weekly bookings for a set time and day of play, with no charge for weather cancellations. All club facilities are available during hire, including male/female toilets & chilled water. If you wish to enquire further about a booking, please contact us at info@yerongatennisclub.com.au.
Our flexible hiring hours are one of the many benefits of hiring our courts. We understand that not everyone has time during the day, and so we have lights set up to ensure you can hire the courts for any time!
Competitive Pricing
We offer some of the best rates to hire our courts and the facilities to match. As a not-for-profit, our main priority is to improve tennis, and we achieve this by reinvesting any profits back into the club's infrastructure and tennis programs.
Social Tennis
We hold games of Social Tennis for members only every Saturday from 1 pm. The format changes on a weekly basis as follows:
- 1st Saturday - Graded Social Tennis
- 2nd Saturday - Social Tennis

We strongly encourage members to play these games to further their tennis skills. We welcome potential members of the club to please contact us in advance to notify us of your interest. Please note that applications for membership is based on current member numbers and isn't guaranteed.
Overall Impression
The reviews of the Queensland Tennis Centre (QTC) are a mixed bag, with some users expressing admiration for the club's unique non-profit status and well-maintained facilities, while others have encountered frustrating experiences with booking courts.
Facilities and Atmosphere
The QTC is described as a "small three-sided court in a quiet park" by one reviewer, who notes that it is well-maintained due to its exclusive use by members. Another reviewer praises the club's facilities as "lovely".
Booking and Staff
Unfortunately, one reviewer had a negative experience when trying to book a court, with "Jared" refusing to take the booking, citing that he doesn't cater to ad-hoc bookings. This reviewer expresses frustration and disappointment at the lack of encouragement for youth in sport.
Philosophical Perspective
One reviewer takes a more philosophical approach, musing that "Religious places refine the soul, and sports refine the body", implying that the QTC is a place where one can cultivate both physical and spiritual growth.
