Experience the Unforgettable
The Central Tourist Park, located in the heart of Mackay, Queensland, is a family-owned and operated business that has been providing top-notch accommodation and facilities to travelers and tourists for over 50 years. Originally built in 1966, our park has undergone several developments and expansions, but we're still proudly owned and operated by the original owners, making us the longest-serving continuous operators in Australia.
Our park is steeped in history, with the site believed to be the original crossing of the Pioneer River by early settlers. Today, we offer a range of accommodation options, from comfort cabins and Olympic units to villas with air-conditioning, fully self-contained with cooking facilities. Our newly constructed camper's kitchen offers free barbecue facilities, ample table, seating, and complimentary flat-screen digital TV viewing. We're also proud to offer free Wi-Fi to all our guests.
Our Facilities
Our facilities are designed to provide comfort and convenience to our guests. Our 24-meter swimming pool is surrounded by tall, swaying coconut palms, creating a tranquil atmosphere. We also have a range of amenities, including a camper's kitchen, laundry facilities, and a bus stop right at the front of the park. Our villas and cabins are equipped with kitchenettes, air-conditioning, and ensuites, making them the perfect option for families, couples, and solo travelers.
Our Services
At Central Tourist Park, we're committed to providing exceptional service to our guests. We offer a range of services, including drive-through sites for caravanners, free Wi-Fi, and a camper's kitchen with free electric barbecue facilities. Our reception team is happy to provide information on local sights and attractions, and we can also cater for group bookings.
Our History
Our park has a rich history, dating back to the early settlers who crossed the Pioneer River to access the northern side of Mackay. The original house on the site was built in the late 1800s and was once home to a butcher shop and market garden. Today, we're proud to continue the tradition of hospitality and warmth that has been a hallmark of our park since its inception.
