Providing a supportive, safe and inclusive space and service for all

Welcome to Reflection Space, a counselling service for children, youth, individuals, and families provided by Danielle Forer. Our mission is to provide a supportive, safe, and inclusive space and service for all. We acknowledge that we work and live on the traditional and unceded lands of the Wadawurrung and Wathaurong communities, and we pay our respect to elders past, present, and emerging.

Our Counsellor

Danielle Forer is a qualified counsellor with over 25 years of experience providing social work interventions, counselling, and group work. She offers a welcoming, safe space and an opportunity to connect with what is important for each of her clients. Danielle has a particular interest in working with children and youth, and she provides joint child and parent sessions, as well as separate sessions for parents and their children. Family-focused work is also provided, and all counselling is child and family-centered and planned, following an assessment of needs.

Our Services

We offer a variety of approaches, including family and systems interventions, therapeutic play, mindfulness, psychodrama, emotion regulation techniques, trauma-informed and recovery-focused practices, bereavement and grief interventions, cognitive-behavioural approaches, parenting support, and motivational interviewing. We also provide information provision and advocacy services. Our services are designed to support individuals dealing with anxiety, stress, and depression, grief, loss, and trauma, family relationship difficulties, school and friendship concerns, managing strong feelings and emotional dysregulation, dealing with change, life transitions, and uncertainty, refugee and asylum seeker mental health, living with a chronic health condition, increasing self-esteem and confidence, and improving sleep and self-care.
