Your Premier Music School on the Central Coast
Coast Academy of Music was founded in 2014 by Tom and Leah Brett to provide contemporary music education tailored to individual goals. Our team of professional musicians delivers personalized lessons in guitar, piano, vocals, drums, and more, combining song-based and exam-style approaches. With studios in Kincumber and partnerships across Central Coast schools, we emphasize performance opportunities and community building. Our tutors, who have worked with international artists like Taylor Swift and Tina Arena, bring industry expertise to every lesson. We prioritize self-directed learning and technical growth, supported by a relaxed environment and flexible scheduling.Students progress from recitals to major concerts while developing confidence and musicianship. Our open-door policy encourages family involvement, and we offer instrument rentals for convenience. As a regional AMEB exam center, we balance formal training with creative expression. The academy fosters a supportive community where students connect through workshops and group programs. With over 15 combined years of teaching experience, our directors ensure every student finds their musical path.

With both electric and acoustic options, our tutors help students master genres from rock to classical. Each 30-minute session includes practice material and progress tracking.
Vocal Coaching
Professional vocal training focuses on breath control, pitch accuracy, and performance techniques. Using Estill Voice International methods, we teach safe vocal production across genres. Students receive personalized feedback on tone quality and stage presence during weekly private sessions in our Kincumber studio.
Drum Lessons
Led by touring professionals, drum lessons cover rhythm patterns, kit technique, and live performance skills. Students use industry-standard equipment to practice styles from jazz to rock. Our curriculum includes reading drum notation and developing coordination for both studio and stage environments.
Songwriting
This program teaches melody creation, lyric writing, and arrangement techniques. Students work with multi-instrumentalist tutors to develop original material using industry software. Lessons include feedback on song structure and guidance for recording original compositions in professional studios.
Music Production
Students learn digital audio workstation operation, mixing techniques, and recording best practices. With access to professional-grade equipment, they gain hands-on experience producing tracks from initial concept to final master.
