Appointments

At Petrie Family Medical Practice, we offer convenient appointment times, including early morning, evening, and Saturday appointments. Patients can book an appointment by contacting us on (07) 3285 6572 or by making a quick and easy appointment through our website. We also offer telehealth appointments for patients who are unable to attend the practice in person.

We understand that unexpected medical issues can arise, which is why we reserve appointments for urgent consultations and sick children. We always try our best to ensure that we can find a suitable appointment time with your preferred doctor.

Your Personal Information

We take the confidentiality of our patients' health records very seriously and have protocols in place to safeguard their privacy. We request that new patients complete a registration form prior to their consultation to ensure optimal patient care. We ask that existing patients inform us of any changes to their personal information, such as change of contact or Medicare details, address or emergency contact, on their next visit or over the phone.

Cancellations

Due to high demand for appointments, we have a cancellation policy in place. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please contact the practice a minimum of two hours before your appointment time and preferably 24 hours prior. Missed appointments may deprive another patient of an appointment, and we appreciate your consideration.

Home Visits

Home visits and nursing home visits are available within a reasonable distance, at the discretion of the treating doctor. They are available to regular patients whose condition prevents them from attending the practice.

Waiting Times

We aim to be as punctual as possible, but due to medical emergencies that may arise, delays in scheduled appointments may occasionally occur. In such cases, emergencies will be given priority, and we regret any inconvenience caused due to these delays.

After Hours Arrangements

During after-hours when we are closed, patients can call Hello Home Doctor on 134 100 to book an after-hours appointment. For emergencies, patients should call 000.

Repeat Prescriptions and Referrals

Repeat prescriptions and referrals can be arranged during a consultation with your doctor. We encourage patients to make an appointment to ensure that their medical care is safe, effective, and up-to-date.
