Our Story
Gracie Barra Hunter Valley was established in 2013 by Professor Gene DeCrewis, a renowned expert in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Our school was initially located in Maitland, but we outgrew the space and moved to our current purpose-built facility in Rutherford. We are proud to be part of the global Gracie Barra network, which has over 800 schools in more than 50 countries.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for individuals of all ages to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and improve their overall quality of life. We believe that Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu has the power to transform lives, and we are committed to helping our students achieve their goals, whether it's to get in shape, learn self-defense, or simply improve their mental and physical well-being.
Our Programs
We offer a range of programs and classes for adults and kids, including:
- Adult Gi and No-Gi classes, designed to teach self-defense techniques and improve physical fitness
- Kids' classes, divided by age, to teach essential values such as focus, discipline, and respect
- GB1 Beginners program, designed for newcomers to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
- GB2/GB3 Advance program, for students who have completed the GB1 curriculum
- No-Gi program, for advanced adult students
