Empowering individuals through the discipline of karate
The Australian Chitokai Karate Association is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the study and practice of Chitokai Karate-do throughout Australia. Our association is built on the principles of fellowship, excellence, and community contribution, and we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of our members and the communities we serve.
Our History
The Australian Chitokai Karate Association was originally formed as the Australian Chito-Ryu Karate Association, but in 2005, we decided to separate from the International Chito-Ryu Karate Federation and pursue an independent study of the teachings and legacy of Dr. Tsuyoshi Chitose, the founder of the Chito-Ryu method. Since then, we have been committed to preserving and promoting the traditional values and techniques of Chitokai Karate-do.
Our Services
We offer a range of services to support our members on their karate journey. From beginner classes to advanced training sessions, we provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals of all ages and skill levels to learn and grow. Our experienced instructors are dedicated to helping our members improve their physical fitness, discipline, and self-awareness, and we offer regular grading opportunities for those looking to advance their skills.
In addition to our training programs, we also host seminars, workshops, and competitions throughout the year, providing our members with opportunities to learn from renowned instructors, connect with other karate enthusiasts, and test their skills in a competitive environment. We are proud to be a member of the World Karate Federation, Australian Karate Federation, and NSW Karate Federation, and we work closely with these organisations to promote the development of karate in Australia.
Our Community
At the Australian Chitokai Karate Association, we believe that karate is not just a physical activity, but a way of life. We strive to create a sense of community among our members, and we encourage our students to support and respect one another as they progress on their karate journey. We also believe in giving back to our communities, and we regularly participate in local events and fundraisers to make a positive impact on the world around us.
Our Instructors
Our instructors are highly experienced and qualified, with many years of training and teaching experience. They are dedicated to providing our members with the highest level of instruction and guidance, and they are committed to helping our students achieve their goals and reach their full potential. From Kyoshi Brian Hayes, our President and Chief Instructor, to our other senior instructors, our team is passionate about sharing the benefits of Chitokai Karate-do with others.
