Our Beginnings
Wet-Seal's story starts in the late 1970s when three visionaries - Mike Ellis, Kevin Tighe, and John Rathbone - embarked on a journey to redefine waterproofing. Inspired by a local canoe-builder who expressed his desire for something different, they took the gamble of waterproofing an on-site construction area instead of creating a bespoke fibreglass mould. And thus, Wet-Seal was born.
Industry Leaders
From humble beginnings, Wet-Seal grew to become a leader in the home construction industry. Their innovative waterproofing systems and unwavering dedication to quality resonated across Australia. Soon, the company expanded its reach beyond its Coffs Harbour origins, inspiring individuals across New Zealand to embrace the Wet-Seal difference.
Innovation & Sustainability
Never resting on their laurels, Wet-Seal continuously sought progress. In 2010, the groundbreaking Enviro-coat range emerged, marking a new chapter in environmentally conscious waterproofing. This advancement underscores Wet-Seal's unwavering commitment to sustainable practices and eco-consciousness.
Expertise & Experience
The strength of Wet-Seal lies in the combined expertise of its founding directors. Each individual brings invaluable knowledge amassed across diverse backgrounds in engineering, accounting, taxation, banking, plumbing, and timber manufacturing. This collective wisdom has been instrumental in making Wet-Seal the robust and resilient organisation it is today.
Continuing Growth & Evolution
Over the years, Wet-Seal has achieved remarkable milestones, including contributing to the development of the Australian Waterproofing Code and becoming the first to achieve a nationally recognised waterproofing classification in New Zealand. This continuous pursuit of excellence solidified Wet-Seal's position as a pioneer in the field.
