Our History
The story of Neweys started in 1993 when business partners Peter Newey and Bill Hudson opened Neweys 60 Minute Drive Thru Dry Cleaners in an old service station site on the corner of Nind & Scarborough Streets in Southport. In 1998, Bill Hudson bought out his partner Peter Newey, and shortly after, he also purchased the Hoffmans Dry Cleaning chain and expanded the business to a multi-store operation. Several years after this, all the stores were changed to the Neweys brand, and more stores have been moved and added along the way. In 2013, Justin Hudson purchased the business from his father Bill and continues to own and run the business to this day.

The majority of reviewers have had excellent experiences with Neweys Molendinar, praising the friendly and efficient staff, high-quality service, and affordable prices. Some customers have had complex or delicate items cleaned, such as a 70+ year old piece of sporting memorabilia and a formal dress, and have been thrilled with the results. Others have had clothing alterations done, including a successful repair of a broken zip on a pair of jeans.
Negative Experiences
On the other hand, two reviewers have had poor experiences with Neweys Molendinar. One customer had a doona returned in the wrong size and material, while another had a uniform shirt returned with numerous creases and badly ironed sleeves.
