Be the change you want to see in your world.
At Tristan Abba Psychology, we believe that psychology can change your life by exploring and finding solutions to challenges you are facing. Our mission is to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment where individuals can process their thoughts, emotions, and experiences to create positive change.
our story
Our experience of stressors from different aspects of life (careers, financial circumstances, children, partners, and parents) can accumulate and cause psychological issues. These may be anxieties, depression, and sometimes unhelpful coping strategies like alcohol or drug abuse or social withdrawal. As a psychologist, I founded my practice initially on the Gold Coast to help people understand and master the ways in which the many components of their lives interact and affect their emotional health. I am currently practicing from West Leederville in Perth.
our services
In addition to working on issues like depression or anxiety, many people use psychology sessions effectively to:
- Get to know themselves better
- Set and achieve personal or professional goals
- Get in touch with emotions; learn how to express and manage emotions assertively
- Improve their relationships with parents, children, partners, and friends
- Better understand how past trauma affects their present and stop it limiting their future.
My aim is to partner with you to find solutions through psychotherapy. This can be achieved in a variety of ways, and your sessions are customized specifically for you. Using several modalities, I support my clients to find the best path to healing and growth in their lives.
therapies offered
- Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)
- Motivational Interviewing (MI)
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
- Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
- Interpersonal Therapy
our approach
I draw upon a range of approaches within a trauma-informed, neurodiversity affirming, and solution-focused framework. My values define both my practice and myself. There is no therapist mask, voice, or posture when I enter a consulting room. I am me, and I believe this gives you the best chance to be you.
