Surgical Locations
If your surgery requires hospital admission, it will either occur at Glenelg Day Surgery 1 or McLaren Vale & Districts War Memorial Hospital 2.
Anaesthesia and Post-Operative Care
Almost all foot and ankle surgery can be safely and efficiently performed on a same-day or day surgery basis with intravenous sedation and local anaesthetic. Most patients are personally reviewed by Dr Hermann between postoperative day 3 to 7.
About Dr. Rob Hermann
As a Podiatric Surgeon, Dr Rob Hermann is a registered specialist, endorsed by the Podiatry Board of Australia (PBA) to prescribe from a national list of scheduled medicines when treating podiatric conditions. He is a Commonwealth Accredited Podiatric Surgeon for private health insurance purposes. Graduating from the University of South Australia in 1984 with a Diploma in Podiatry, Dr Hermann practiced general podiatry for 2 years before commencing Fellowship training in podiatric surgery with The Australasian College of Podiatric Surgeons (ACPS). He qualified for Fellowship of the ACPS in 1991, with post-fellowship education and training completed in the U.S. at Edgewater Hospital in Chicago and at The Podiatry Institute in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1994, he was the first Australian podiatric surgeon accepted for The Podiatry Institute's Fellowship Program.
