Our Story
At White Whale, we're passionate about more than just serving great coffee - we're dedicated to making a positive difference to people, communities, and the environment through our business. Since 2010, we've been on a mission to demystify the world of coffee, roasting approachable specialty coffee with the home-barista in mind, while maintaining the utmost quality, balance, and flavor of each roast. Both ethical and fairly traded, we seasonally select the best green beans from the top coffee-growing regions of the globe.
Our story began when Ali and Steve, our co-founders, tossed secure careers to the side to co-found a coffee roasting business in a Cairns inner-industrial suburb. Since then, we've grown into a team of passionate individuals who share our vision for great coffee and a better world. From Romano, our operations manager with over 15 years of experience in specialty coffee, to Donna, our training and accounts expert with over 18 years in the industry, we're a team that's serious about sustainability and dedicated to serving only the best.

Our Relationship with RRF
At White Whale, we're committed to making a positive difference to the environment, and our partnership with the Reef Restoration Foundation (RRF) is just one way we're living this mission. We're proud to donate 1% of all coffee beans sales to support RRF's efforts to plant 1 million baby coral on the Great Barrier Reef by 2026.
