GV Functional Fitness is a fitness studio that specialises in Tae Kwon Do Martial Arts and Functional Movement Training. Our philosophy is centered around the idea that these two forms of training, when combined, create a harmonious relationship for the mind, body, and soul. We believe that the fitness industry is evolving, moving away from traditional weight machines that work muscles in isolation, and instead replicating how our body moves in day-to-day life. Our goal is to facilitate whole body movement exercises that help our clients cope with the everyday stresses they encounter.

George Moutafis, our founder, is a four-time Victorian State Taekwondo Champion and three-time Australian National Taekwondo Champion. George achieved these titles in his late 40s, demonstrating that age is just a number. Our studio is testament to the fact that anyone can achieve their fitness goals, no matter their age or current fitness level.

We offer a range of services that cater to all fitness levels and goals. Whether you are looking to lose weight, increase your core strength, improve your cardiovascular endurance, or simply feel better, we have a program that will suit your needs. Our Services

  • Tae Kwon Do Martial Arts: Our Tae Kwon Do classes are designed to improve your fitness, flexibility, and self-defense skills. We offer classes for all levels, from beginner to advanced. Our instructors are experienced black belts who are dedicated to helping you improve your technique and achieve your goals.
  • Functional Movement Training: Our functional movement training is designed to help you move better in your everyday life. We offer a range of classes and one-on-one sessions that focus on building core strength and improving your mobility. Our trainers will work with you to create a program that is tailored to your needs and goals.
  • Group Personal Training: Our group personal training sessions are a fun and sociable way to get fit. We offer a range of classes that cater to all fitness levels, from beginner to advanced. Our trainers will work with you to create a program that is challenging, but achievable.
  • Cardio Workout Classes: Our cardio workout classes are designed to help you tone and strengthen the lower muscle groups in your body. We target calves, hamstrings, quad muscles, inner and outer thighs, gluts, and abdominals. Our classes are high-energy and lots of fun.
  • Boot Camps: Our boot camps are a fun and challenging way to get fit. We offer both indoor and outdoor boot camps that combine cardio and endurance training. Our boot camps are designed to be fun and sociable, but also challenging.
  • Krav Maga: Krav Maga is a combat system developed by the Israeli Defence Forces. It focuses on self-protection and features techniques from Muay Thai, boxing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and Judo among other martial arts. Our Krav Maga classes are designed to help you improve your self-defense skills and get fit at the same time.
