With a rich history spanning over 40 years and two decades dedicated to HDD, our company is a trusted name in the industry. Founded by Dave Sturzaker and Paul Engel, ACTHDB started with just one directional drill and has since grown to possess a fleet of machines capable of performing a wide range of installations. Our expertise lies in the installation of electrical, water, and gas utilities, telecommunications, irrigation, and plumbing systems.

Our Services

ACTHDB offers a comprehensive range of services, including:

• Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD): Our specialty is in providing HDD services that enable the installation of electrical, telecommunications, water, and gas utilities under waterways, roadways, congested, and environmentally sensitive areas, down to driveways, footpaths, and gardens. HDD is a preferred method over other techniques due to its lower cost, minimal environmental impact, minimal traffic disruption, deeper and longer installation capability, and shorter completion times.
• Consultation Service: We offer a consultation service for HDD projects that require additional refinement before starting. Our team will work closely with you to ensure your goals are met, assisting you in understanding the process and getting the job done right the first time, thereby saving you money.
• Excavation Services: ACTHDB is equipped with a range of excavators that can handle most excavation projects, including zero swing excavators that are suitable for restricted work sites. If your job requires something bigger, ACTHDB can access an excavator to suit your needs through one of our supporting contractors. We also have an extensive range of bucket sizes and various attachments to suit different applications, such as the auger attachment, which is capable of vertical drilling to a depth of 2m and 150mm to 600mm in diameter.
