Our Story
With over 25 years of experience playing for live audiences and teaching in Western Australian schools, our founder Mike de Velta is a highly qualified and experienced guitar teacher. Holding a Bachelor of Education (Music Specialist) and with a police clearance and working with children check, Mike is dedicated to helping students unlock their full potential.
Our Services
We offer one-on-one guitar tuition that caters to adults and children, from beginners to advanced players. Our lessons cover a wide range of styles, including Pop, Blues, Jazz Blues, Folk, Slide Guitar, Finger style, Open tunings, Rock, and many more. We understand that the guitar can be a challenging instrument to learn, which is why we use computers and apps to help students visualize the neck and master the fretboard.
Our approach to teaching emphasizes improvisation, helping students develop their "inner ear" and ability to play what they "hear". We also encourage students to explore and develop their own style, going beyond their own expectations. While sight-reading is not a requirement, we can teach it to those who are interested.
Online Lessons
We also offer online Skype lessons, which are just as fun and rewarding as in-person lessons. With an experienced guitar mentor watching you play, you'll get personalized feedback and guidance to help you improve your skills. Our online lessons are designed to be engaging and interactive, with the human element of online learning being essential to our approach.
