Empowering children to bloom and grow, one step at a time.
Our Philosophy
Lismore Preschool is a not-for-profit community-based early childhood education centre that has been serving the Lismore community for over 80 years. We believe that every child is a unique individual with immense potential. We are committed to fostering their early learning and development through an inclusive and nurturing environment that celebrates their individual strengths and encourages them to explore, discover, and grow.
Facilities
Nestled amongst the vibrant Lismore community, our two air-conditioned classrooms and spacious outdoor learning environments overlook the thriving community garden. Our contemporary facilities are designed to inspire young minds and provide a safe and stimulating space for exploration and discovery.
Management Committee
Our Preschool is overseen by a dedicated Management Committee comprised of passionate volunteers from the local community. These dedicated individuals work in collaboration with our experienced Director to ensure that our programs and services meet the highest standards.
History
Since our humble beginnings, Lismore Preschool has consistently evolved and grown, adapting to the changing needs of the community. We take great pride in our rich history and are grateful for the opportunity to have nurtured countless young minds over the past eight decades.
Program
Our curriculum is based on the Early Years Learning Framework: Belonging, Being, Becoming. This framework emphasizes the importance of play-based learning, exploration, and fostering strong relationships. Our passionate educators create engaging and enriching experiences that cater to the diverse learning styles of our young learners.
Staff
Our team of highly qualified and experienced educators is the backbone of our Preschool. Guided by a shared commitment to fostering young minds, our staff are passionate about creating a positive and nurturing learning environment for every child.
Parents & Carers
We believe in strong partnerships with families and encourage active involvement in our preschool community. Our dedicated team works closely with parents and carers to ensure their children receive the best possible care and learning experiences.
Quality of Education and Staff
The majority of the reviews express extreme dissatisfaction with the preschool's education and staff. One reviewer, Tara Stevens, gave the preschool a 1-star rating and mentioned that she wouldn't even consider sending her child there unless the director calls doctors unnecessarily. This suggests that the preschool's education and staff are of poor quality.
Parent-Teacher Relationship and Communication
The reviews also highlight concerns about the parent-teacher relationship and communication at the preschool. Tara Stevens specifically mentioned that the director likes to tell parents they need parental classes and engages in false narratives and reports children without merit. This raises questions about the transparency and trustworthiness of the preschool's communication with parents.
Recommendation
Based on the reviews, it is clear that the preschool is not recommended by Tara Stevens. She explicitly states that she would highly recommend not sending a child to this preschool due to the perceived poor quality of education and staff.
