Hello and welcome to Play Music, where we are dedicated to making piano lessons a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone. We are a married couple with two beautiful girls, and we share a passion for creative and curious living. Our aim is to bring a fresh perspective to music lessons and to constantly improve and learn in order to provide the best possible experience for our students.

Prior to starting Play Music, Kat worked in theatre, design, and arts management for companies such as CarriageWorks, Sydney Festival, Relativity Films, and the Illawarra Performing Arts Centre. She also worked with Eastern Suburbs Piano Tuition, helping to streamline their administrative systems and acting as MC at their annual recitals. Kat's background in the arts and her experience with piano tuition make her perfectly suited to help you on your musical journey.

Josh is a highly-respected piano teacher, an accomplished composer, and an advocate for modern teaching methods. His ability to connect with students and understand their unique learning styles has earned him a reputation as one of the best piano teachers in the Eastern Suburbs. Together, Kat and Josh are committed to providing fun, contemporary piano lessons that are tailored to suit each individual student's style and needs.

Our Lessons

At Play Music, we offer at-home piano lessons for students in Sydney, Melbourne, and the Gold Coast. We also provide online lessons for students across Australia. Our lessons are specifically tailored to suit each student's individual learning style and needs, and we use contemporary approaches in our teaching. We believe that a holistic approach to music sets the stage for a life of possibility, creativity, and self-confidence, and our goal is to develop our musicians and give them the skills to go anywhere they want to go.

We only work with creative, smart, and fun teachers who are dedicated to making piano lessons an enjoyable experience. We take the time to find out your goals and match you with the best piano teacher for you. Our teachers hold a Working With Children Check and we are a registered NSW Creative Kids provider.

Our Concerts

Play Music students have the opportunity to showcase their talents in creative, dynamic, and inclusive concerts on a baby grand piano. These concerts are a fun and exciting way for students to share their progress and connect with other musicians.

Our Philosophy

At Play Music, we are committed to encouraging a personal connection with music. We believe that music lessons should be a fun and rewarding life-long activity, and we want to make organising piano lessons easy. We offer enrolments year-round, and our teachers hold a Working With Children Check. Our lessons are held in the comfort of your own home, and we have a make-up lesson policy supported by our outstanding customer service.

From $52 for 30 minutes, our lessons are affordable and accessible. We are dedicated to providing the best possible experience for our students, and we are constantly learning and improving in order to do so.
