At Sovereign Concrete Products, we pride ourselves on being a leading supplier of quality precast structural concrete products to the civil and road construction industries. With two manufacturing plants in central Victoria, we have the capacity to deliver a comprehensive range of products to meet the needs of our clients.
Our Services
Our product range is diverse and includes structural precast bridge parapets, safety barriers, sound walls, and abutments for freeways and bridges. We also manufacture J-J Hooks temporary safety barriers for roadwork site protection under license to Easi-Set Industries, Midland, Virginia, USA. Additionally, we supply safety barriers for the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix, precast culverts ranging in size from 300 x 150 to 4500 x 3000 for stormwater drainage, stock crossings, and pedestrian underpasses. We can also supply precast pits of any size, shape, or type, often manufactured to order to meet our clients' specific requirements.
Our Capabilities
Our production capabilities are dependent on a combination of our own resources, those of our suppliers, and on the services available to be called upon. Our Ballarat site covers an area of approximately 33,000m2, with approximately 5400 m2 of under cover work areas and office space. The plant has two major production areas under cover, allowing for continuous production in all weather. Each production area is serviced by overhead bridge cranes, and we also have an all-terrain mobile crane that services the adjoining yards. Larger mobile cranes are hired in as and when the need arises from local suppliers.
Our Team
We employ up to 50 people at any one time, including a core workforce skilled in formwork carpentry, steel fabrication, and concrete finishing. Our management team has a strong engineering focus, which allows us to tackle unusual and low-volume projects that other manufacturers might avoid. We maintain a permanent shop floor workforce of around 40 people, which is supplemented through the employment of locally sourced casual workers.
Our History
Sovereign Concrete Products is the trading name for Ballarat Concrete Products Pty. Ltd. and has been operating under the present ownership since 2001, and under a previous ownership since the early 1980's. We are proud of our history and our commitment to delivering quality products and services to our clients.
