Our Director: Ben Battist

Ben Battist, the founding director of iPlan, holds a Bachelor of Built Environment - Urban and Regional Planning (with Distinction), a Graduate Diploma in Urban and Regional Planning (with Distinction), and a Graduate Certificate in Property Economics (Property Development) from the Queensland University of Technology. Ben's career began at Brisbane City Council as a Town Planner in Development Assessment, where he specialised in major residential, industrial, and commercial projects' assessments, as well as appeals in the Planning & Environment Court.

In 2003, Ben moved on to a prominent Brisbane-based consultancy, where he was appointed Senior Town Planner and later made an Associate Director. During this time, he undertook further studies in Property Economics specialising in Property Development. Ben has been instrumental in the implementation of the Industry Involvement in Development Assessment (IIDA) Pilot Program, which has now been formally implemented by Brisbane City Council through the Risk Smart Program.

Ben's extensive experience in both public and private sectors has equipped him with a thorough understanding of the Queensland Planning System. He has been iPlan's exclusive Town Planner for over 5 years, facilitating Development Approvals for Commercial, Industrial, and Residential projects in South East Queensland. With his exceptional knowledge of Brisbane City Council's City Plans, Ben has delivered a 100% approval rate for Tradecoast Developments Pty Ltd. His proven expertise and professionalism shine through in each successfully approved project.
