Our Story

Established in 1986 by Paul and Pam Mitrega, North West Aviation Pty Ltd is an aircraft maintenance company located at Inverell Airport, in the New England region of NSW. Our team has many years of experience in all areas of aircraft maintenance, from scheduled/unscheduled maintenance, major repairs, rebuilds, and tail wheel conversions to Class A aircraft maintenance. We're proud to have licensed coverage to maintain a vast array of fixed-wing aircraft, and three of our staff are aircraft owners and pilots themselves.

• Piston engine maintenance, specialising in Continental, Lycoming, and Pratt and Whitney R-985 and R-1340 engines
• Turbo prop - Garrett TPE-331 maintenance
• Scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on VFR and IFR single and twin-engine, non-pressurised and pressurised aircraft, up to 5700KG
• Control cable assembly manufacture
• Flexible hose assembly manufacture
• Non-type certificated historical and ex-military piston engine aeroplanes with MTOW not exceeding 5700KG
• Propeller balancing
• Piston engine helicopters with a MTOW not exceeding 3175KG
• Cessna SIDS and corrosion prevention and control programs
• Maintenance of fabric-covered aircraft
• Aircraft weight control
• Maintenance at temporary locations
• Aircraft pick-up and delivery service
• Aircraft pre-purchase inspections - detailed review of maintenance records
• Conversion of Cessna 182 through to 182D to tail wheel configuration in accordance with North West Aviation

We also specialise in Beechcraft Flight Controls, and are the exclusive Australasian Pacific dealer for SRS Aviation, providing aluminium Beechcraft PMA flight control skins and other items.
