Led by clinical and counselling psychologist Dr. Frank Cahill, our team is dedicated to helping individuals regain their confidence in sleeping well. With over 20 years of experience in the field of psychology, Dr. Cahill specializes in treating insomnia and other sleep-related disorders.

Our Services

Our comprehensive program is designed to address the complex issues surrounding insomnia and sleep disorders. We employ cognitive-behavioural therapy, along with psycho-educational support, to reduce anxiety and provide practical, easy-to-apply strategies for better sleep. Our program is suitable for teenagers and adults of all ages, including those struggling with insomnia, parasomnias, circadian rhythm disorders, and sleep medication dependence.

The Treatment Process

Our treatment process begins with a detailed sleep diary, which helps us identify the pattern of poor sleep and target our treatment approach. In our initial 50-minute session, we review the sleep diary, discuss the impact of insomnia on daily life, and explore the perpetuating factors maintaining the insomnia. We then develop a tailored, step-by-step plan to treat insomnia, focusing on areas such as sleep hygiene, relaxation, mindfulness, managing daytime stress, anxiety, and catastrophizing.

Follow-up Sessions

Following our initial session, you'll implement the strategies outlined in your plan, with follow-up sessions as needed. Our experience suggests that it can take approximately 4-5 weeks to notice improvements in sleep quality. We believe that individual approach is essential, and our sessions are tailored to meet the unique needs of each client.

Complementary Services

As a clinical and counselling psychologist, Dr. Cahill also provides general counselling services for individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and life adjustment issues, including midlife crises.
