Launceston Community Legal Centre is a government-funded organisation that provides free legal advice to vulnerable Tasmanians. Our centre is dedicated to delivering high-quality legal services to those who need it most. Our Mission
Our mission is to provide free legal advice and support to individuals and families in need. We are committed to empowering our clients with the knowledge and resources they need to navigate the legal system. Our team of experienced lawyers and support staff are dedicated to providing a friendly, professional, and non-judgmental environment for our clients.
Our Services
We offer a range of legal services to cater to the diverse needs of our clients. Our areas of law include:
- General Legal: We provide advice on general legal matters such as contracts, debt, and consumer rights.
- Welfare Rights: We assist clients with welfare-related issues, including Centrelink disputes and social security matters.
- Disability Discrimination: We provide advice and support to individuals who have experienced discrimination due to a disability.
- Employment Law: We assist clients with employment-related matters, including unfair dismissal, workplace bullying, and employment contracts.
- Family Law: We provide advice on family law matters, including divorce, separation, and child custody.
- CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) Clients in Magistrates Court: We offer support and advocacy for CALD clients navigating the Magistrates Court system.
- Magistrates Court Support: We provide assistance and support to clients attending the Magistrates Court, including courtroom representation and advocacy.
- Community Legal Education: We deliver community legal education programs to empower individuals and communities with legal knowledge and skills.
- After-Hours Clinic: We offer a weekly after-hours clinic for clients who cannot attend our regular hours.
Our Outreach Clinic Program
Our Outreach Clinic Program is designed to reach rural and disadvantaged communities across Tasmania. We partner with local community organisations to deliver free legal advice and support to those who need it most.
Legal Literacy Volunteers
