Our Services
We pride ourselves on offering a wide-ranging combination of services, from treatment of acute to chronic illnesses (including the management of emergency cases), women's health, child health, psychology and counselling services, travel and general family health. Our doctors and allied health practitioners are fully trained, qualified, and accredited, and the Centre is fully computerised, accredited, and equipped with the latest equipment and technology.
Our team of General Practitioners, Clinical Psychologists, Dietitians, Physiotherapists, Podiatrists, and other allied health practitioners work together to provide comprehensive, continuous, and confidential general practice and family medical care. We respect your need for prompt and efficient attention and endeavour to attend to you as quickly as possible, particularly in the case of sudden, acute, and emergency cases.
Our Commitment

At Petersham Family Medical Centre, every patient receives the care and attention they require and deserve, in a friendly and caring environment. We understand that illness doesn't always occur during business hours, and that's why we've extended our opening hours to 7 days a week, including weeknights to 9 pm, to provide you with greater flexibility and convenience.
Mixed Billing Practice
We are a mixed billing practice, and a private fee will apply for all consultations. We will continue to accept the Medicare rebate for children under the age of 16 and DVA Gold Card holders. For fully bulk-billed patients, the amount paid by Medicare is significantly less than the true cost to deliver the service, and it undervalues the significant training & skills of our doctors, nurses & administration staff. To maintain our standards, we have introduced discounted fees which will apply to all pensioners, concession card holders, and children 16-18 years.
Quality of Service
The reviews highlight the excellent service provided by the medical centre. Many reviewers praised the friendly and professional staff, particularly the receptionists and Dr. Lim. Chaerisse, a receptionist, was particularly noticeable for her lovely demeanor and attention to detail. Dr. Lim was commended for his professionalism, efficiency, caring, and knowledge.
On the other hand, not all reviews were positive. One reviewer, Katie Bowers, described their experience as "appalling" and accused the practice of fraud and negligence. Another reviewer, Thaneeshya, reported a terrible experience with a doctor and receptionist, describing the appointment as a "joke" and voicing concerns about the lack of cleanliness and hygiene.
