Our Story

Our journey began in 1982 when founder Philip McVeity made a life-changing move from Sydney to Tasmania. Driven by a desire to build a life by the sea, he established McVeity & Associates in 1986. Over the years, the firm grew and evolved, establishing itself as a respected provider of legal expertise in family law, child protection & welfare, and wills & estates.

In 2019, with a twinkle in his eye and a wanderlust heart, Philip decided to pass the reins to his dedicated colleague, Joanna Dean (Jo), and embrace a life of travel. The firm was renamed McVeity Dean Lawyers, but the commitment to excellence remained unchanged.
