  • Joanne Ferguson gave a 5-star rating, noting, "Staff were lovely & friendly, offered me a drink straight away. Good place to stop for a drink & catch up with mates, or even have a quick drink on yr own!"

Negative Reviews

  • Mannie gave a 1-star rating, expressing, "We had group of about 16 for lunch. Due to flooding and train issues one couple were a little late. When they went to order food at 3pm they were told last orders were at 3pm. It was 3pm. And everyone else had ordered lunch. Then later on the day because we stated dancing to DJ it was like they decided we were drunk. Strangely going to bar they would still serve us one drink. Then decided to kick us all out. We have been there many times in the past. But this time young bar maid probably thought we were too old to be there and made call to kick us all out. We will never return. Between the lit of us we would have spent easily close to $3,000. In future will take our business elsewhere."
  • Julian Sortland rated it 1 star, stating, "Pleasant enough bar, however smoking is unlawfully permitted/ encouraged upstairs in close proximity to doors on the veranda, resulting in cigarette smoke within the inside area."
  • Ann Collie gave a 1-star rating, saying, "Very disappointed. My 2 friends and I went to this establishment tonight to have a drink on the way home from dinner. The security guard was completely unreasonable and would not allow us entry stating the reason was we had too much to drink. Funny excuse considering we each only had 1. I believe it had more to do with the fact he didn't like the clothes my friend wore. I would definitely give this place a miss. Get a new security guard. He is driving away business."
  • Kevin Davies rated it 4 stars, mentioning, "I've visited a couple of times early evenings. It's a great place, cool, lots of open air areas, hasn't been very busy, but it a relaxing place in a great location. I have to specifically mention the doorman (grey hair, grey goatee): the managers need to sort him out to do his job properly. yesterday he is over at the kerb edge looking at his phone, and when we entered he then reprimanded us that he needs to check if we're ok to enter (rsa). if he was at the door or paying attention, it could have been simple like at every other pub. Afterwards, just walking along the street, I saw 3 other pubs/bars where the doorstaff we're doing their job well just by paying attention to what was happening."
  • Piper Hsieh gave a 2-star rating, stating, "We went there tonight half passed 8pm. The first thing the bouncer said to us at the door is how much we drank before, and in a blunt and rude way. I understand he is trying to do his job. However we only had 1-2 drinks prior with dinner and none of us was showing anyway of intoxication( because we were not). The bouncer kept going on and said he doesn't want us cause any trouble and asked us if we were being kicked out from previous place. I was shocked by his attitude. I worked in a bar before and I am fully aware of the RSA and how to identify people that were as sober as us. The bouncer went on and Interrogate us and said he would let us in only this time, as if it was a mercy from him. I have to say it is a nice bar and the staff inside are friendly enough, but not sure if they have this bouncer with the intension of driving away customers."
  • Wendy Lo rated it 3 stars, saying, "3.4 - Great area (rooftop) for groups of people to be seated or mingle but the food was very average. I had a Prawn Linguine but the sauce was chilli oil, drowned like in the photo. Not at all a light flavoursome dish but perhaps this is not the establishment for that. Music got louder and louder to the point where the person squished next to me couldn't hear me and the 2 facing me had to strain when I was shouting! On the plus side, it was suitable for large groups to meet, which is awesome for a crowded area like Surry Hills."
  • Rebecca Florance gave a 2-star rating, mentioning, "Recently booked a function at Aurora hotel for 50 people on the roof top. There were 3 other functions booked on the roof top of 30+ people. Understandable they wanted to make money, but the space was packed and bar lines were going right through our function area. Prior to our function commencing I asked how the staff knew where the correct food was going. I was ensured that the staff would make sure our canapes were going to come to the correct table. This never occurred. Our food package started 20mins late and 2x $80 plates never rocked up. The staff ensured me our plates came, however they were two distinct plates and I definitely know they never came as I was marking food off as they came out. The staff refused to acknowledge their mistakes and did not offer a refund or bring out the missing food. After such a horrible interaction and jam packed location, I do not recommend for a function."
