At Waves Dance Studio, we're more than just a recreational dance school in Evans Head. We're a community of passionate dancers and educators dedicated to providing top-notch dance education to students of all ages and skill levels. Our principal, Abigail Watson, has created a warm and inclusive environment where students can grow and thrive, both in and out of the dance studio.

Our mission is to educate the arts leaders of tomorrow in a safe and inclusive environment, harnessing the power of dance to unlock their full potential. Our vision is to provide quality learning for our students, not just in dance, but in life. We believe that dance can equip our students with essential skills such as discipline, teamwork, and self-confidence, which will serve them well beyond their dance careers.

Our Faculty and Genres

Our faculty consists of experienced and committed dance teachers who are passionate about providing the best opportunities for our students. We offer a wide range of genres, including Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern/Lyrical, and Fitness classes for adults. Each genre is taught with a focus on technique, creativity, and expression, and our teachers strive to create a fun and engaging learning environment for our students.

Dance Examinations and Performances

At Waves, we believe that dance examinations and performances are an essential part of a dancer's development. Our students have the opportunity to participate in local events, yearly examinations in the Australian Teachers of Dance Syllabus and Acrobatic Arts syllabus, and our annual End of Year Concert. These opportunities provide our students with valuable experience in performing and competing, and help them to build confidence, discipline, and a sense of achievement.
