Sole occupancy is always guaranteed, allowing you to relax in a peaceful and private setting.

ABOUT CHRIS & TRISH

The Friendly Chat Bed and Breakfast is owned and operated by Chris and Trish Irons. Chris is originally from South Africa, while Trish is from Australia. They have travelled extensively, both overseas and within Australia, incorporating their experiences into the bed and breakfast.

Chris and Trish now enjoy the tranquillity of the bay at Thorneside, while running the Friendly Chat B&B. They have opted for a variety of accommodation in the past and enjoy the diversity of places to stay and the people they meet. They have incorporated some of the best features of the accommodation they have stayed in, ensuring that their guests enjoy a comfortable and memorable stay.

When Chris and Trish are not running the B&B, Chris loves to cook and bake fresh and delicious treats, while Trish enjoys taking photographs of the beautiful surroundings. They aim to provide their guests with the facilities to self-cater if they choose, allowing them to have the freedom to cook for themselves if they wish.

HISTORY OF THE FRIENDLY CHAT BED AND BREAKFAST

The Friendly Chat Bed and Breakfast got its name during a visit to Chris's mother in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. Chris fell in love with a little bird, which she was told was the Familiar Chat. She got mixed up and thought her brother said "Friendly Chat, " and hence the name for the bed and breakfast was born.

The Familiar Chat is a small passerine bird of the Old World flycatcher family Muscicapidae. It is a common resident breeder in Africa south of the Sahara, excluding the arid southwest, and south-central arid regions. This charming bird inspired the name of our bed and breakfast, and we hope it adds a touch of friendliness and warmth to your stay.
