Enhancing Environmental Health and Safety in the Community
Welcome to Environmental Health Australia (EHA), the premier professional environmental health organisation in Australia. EHA provides leadership for the profession and supports member development. Our overarching role is to enhance environmental health and safety in the community through the work of our members and in collaboration with other agencies, through advocacy, promotion, education, and leadership.
Our History
EHA has been in existence since 1936 and has undergone several name changes over time to reflect the changing nature of the organisation and its membership. It is a founding member of the International Federation of Environmental Health (IFEH) which includes 45 environmental health associations around the world.
Our Services
We acknowledge the traditional owners of country throughout Australia, and their continuing connection to land, sea, and community. We pay our respects to them and their cultures, and to elders both past and present. Our services include:
- Providing leadership for the profession and supporting member development
- Enhancing environmental health and safety in the community through advocacy, promotion, education, and leadership
- Offering courses and workshops to enhance the skills and knowledge of our members
- Providing resources and support to our members and the community
- Advocating for policies and practices that promote environmental health and safety
- Collaborating with other agencies to achieve common goals
