Our firm was founded in 1977 by John Crawford and has since evolved into an international firm with headquarters in Sydney, Australia, and Kansas City, Missouri, along with branch offices in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego. Our passion lies in creating timeless and sustainable architecture that enhances the quality of life for each of our clients, be they individuals, corporations, or governments.

Where We Started

In 1977, John Crawford co-founded Crawford / Howard Pty Ltd., which later became Crawford Partners in 1992. In 2001, along with four partners, he transformed the company into an international affair with the formation of Crawford Architects, maintaining headquarter offices in Sydney, Australia and Kansas City, Missouri.

Where We Are

Crawford Architects maintains its Australian headquarters in Sydney and has since expanded to Western Australia. Our USA headquarters are located in Kansas City, Missouri, with branch offices in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego, providing comprehensive services to our clients on the West Coast.

TONY GRAY - Managing Director

Tony Gray, our Managing Director, began his career upon completing a Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Newcastle in 1981. After graduating, he gained extensive experience working for the BBC and Lobb Partnerships (now Populous) primarily on sports architecture projects in London. In 1996, Tony established his firm, where he continued to specialise in sports architecture, including the design of high-profile projects such as the Sydney Olympic Stadium. In 2005, Tony joined Crawford Architects and has been instrumental in growing the firm into a leading architecture and design practice in Australia.
