Poor Food Quality and High Prices
Anna Crawford, Olivia Coombs, Julie C., Graham Wild, J. P., V. Alcid, Ray Ray-Rae R., and Cryssy all shared negative experiences at Golden Gate Restaurant. They mentioned that the food was either stale, expensive for the portion size, and/or lacking in taste. Anna Crawford, Julie C., and Ray Ray-Rae R. specifically mentioned that the chicken balls were not good and tasted stale. Olivia Coombs noted that the chicken balls and lemon chicken were mostly breading. J. P. mentioned finding hard pieces in the chicken balls and that the spring rolls were not tasty. V. Alcid found the noodles to be cold and the chicken to lack spice. Cryssy had to reheat her food, which was disappointing.
Service and Atmosphere
While the food was criticized, the service and atmosphere received more positive feedback. Olivia Coombs and Erin Tutte gave high marks for the service and atmosphere. Fox Layng mentioned that the service is always kind and that the restaurant goes above and beyond. Tim Cooper also praised the friendly atmosphere and fresh, hot food.
Mixed Reviews on Quantity and Pricing
Graham Wild noted that the portion sizes have decreased and prices have increased, which has affected their satisfaction with the restaurant. Ray Ray-Rae R. was disappointed with the small size of their Chicken Corn Soup and felt it was not worth the price. On the other hand, Olivia Coombs felt that the pricing was reasonable for the amount of food received.
