Welcome to Changing Minds Pty Ltd, a private psychology practice located in South West Sydney. We are a team of dedicated clinical psychologists providing high-quality, evidence-based intervention for individuals and their families. Our team includes Clinical Psychologist Gina Howland, who specialises in diagnostic assessments. Gina uses the most up-to-date assessment tools to evaluate the needs, difficulties, abilities, and behaviours of children, adolescents, and adults. Assessments are of benefit if you or your child is behind in development, getting into trouble at school, experiencing work performance issues, struggling with learning, underperforming at school or work, easily distracted, experiencing challenging behaviours or intense emotions, having problems with friendships or relationships, or showing signs of Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, intellectual disabilities, or giftedness.

Services Offered

Intervention for Challenges with Behaviour and Emotions

We provide intervention to help with a wide range of problems related to behaviour and emotions. Our approach is to understand the problem, determine the factors that are maintaining it, and develop a plan to manage or fix it.

Assessments for Challenges with Study or Work

Our services include cognitive, academic, and behaviour assessments to explore factors that may impact learning and participation in the workforce. We can also provide treatment for problems such as underperformance, challenging behaviour, peer interaction difficulties, and school/work refusal.

Support for Challenges with Relationships

We offer support for a wide range of interpersonal difficulties, including divorce and custody, abusive relationships, and grief and loss.

Enhanced Practice for Psychologists

Our assessment process involves one to three preparation sessions, during which we gather important background information and build rapport with the client. We then conduct the assessment sessions, selecting tests and tasks based on the referral question and the specific needs of the client. Following the assessment, we analyse the data carefully and provide a detailed diagnostic report.
